Erard Provenance Certificate

Clive Morley Harps owns the original English Erard factory records. We are therefore able, on request, to research and provide details of when a particular English Erard harp was made and, in many cases, who it was sold to, when, and the price of the harp.

We issue a certificate detailing the available information for the harp in question. English Erards will state Erard, Great Marlborough Street, London, on the action plate. The action plate will also record the harp's serial number, which is needed to look up the harp's details. The details we hold about the harps are as follows:
  • Numbers 1 - 100: Records are incomplete and only limited information is available.
  • Numbers 100 onwards: Records are available, with just a few exceptions.
Number 150 is dated around 1807. Number 1894 is dated around 1914 approximately. Numbers 1301-2132 cover the period 1900-1918.Please note that the records are difficult to read and so we cannot guarantee to be able to give details about who the harp was made for, or when it was sold. We can, however, generally give a date of manufacture. This service costs £20, or, is free with the purchase of a facsimile copy of Pierre Erard's 1821 treatise on the harp: The Harp: In its Present Improved State Compared With the Original Pedal Harp.

To order, please choose either the certificate option, or the facsimile option below. In addition, please send an email to harps@morleyharps.com with the serial number of the harp to be researched. Please allow one week for the research and preparation of the certificate.
