This workshop is intended for student harpists who already play the pedal harp, or who would like to try one for the first time.
The aim of the workshop is to develop your technical skills: its a technical boot camp on the harp! We will work on speed and agility, triads, seventh chords, arpeggios and scales, plus all your personal technical issues that you would like to discuss or work on.
For the first hour we will explore how the pedals work and, by playing exercises, we will become familiar with how to use them. During the second hour we will spend more time on the technical skills.
The recommended standard for this workshop is about grade 3 level, though more advanced players, or players without formal grades are welcome. Ideally, participants will be able to play four finger arpeggios and scales with reasonable fluency.
The sessions are held at our showrooms near Lechlade and are led by Marije Vijselaar. Cost is £20 per session. Contact us to reserve your place.
Pedal harps are provided by Morley Harps.
If you are unable to make any of the dates for the workshops, we can offer individual taster lessons on a date to suit you. Also, ‘private’ group workshops can be arranged if you have family or friends who are also interested in having a go on the harp (minimum number 4 people). £20 per person. Please contact us to arrange your lesson or workshop.
