Places to Visit in Filkins

The attractive village of Filkins has a surprising amount to offer within walking distance of our showrooms.

Visit the Swinford Museum (right), a prison cell for drunkards and reprobates of days gone by, with its collection of torture devices and other such contraptions.

The Cotswold Woollen Weavers (below) is one of the last Cotswold wool mills still in use, with a visitor centre, shopping outlet and coffee shop.

Filkins even has its own outdoor swimming pool, which is a popular attraction during the summer months!

Woollen Weavers

Just four miles from the village of Filkins is the small village of Kelmscott, once home to the influential socialist William Morris. As can be seen on the cover of his fantasy book 'News from Nowhere' his summer residence, Kelmscott Manor, has not changed one bit in over 115 years and is well worth a visit.
