Sales Assistant Vacancy at Clive Morley Harps
We looking for a harpist who would like to work in the music retail business. The right candidate will be an accomplished harp player who can demonstrate a range of lever and pedal harps to novice and experienced harpists alike, and who has enough knowledge about the harp to advise customers about suitable harps for rental or purchase.
Day to day responsibilities would include looking after the harps and showrooms; helping customers to choose music and accessories; and keeping in contact with customers and harp teachers.
We exhibit at a number of events in the UK and Ireland and we would expect the candidate, after training, to be able to manage small exhibitions demonstrating harps to the general public and other harpists.
We would also like the candidate to organise regular workshops to promote harp playing. The successful applicant would be skilled enough to present introductory workshops for beginners, and ideally, more experienced players. They may also collaborate with established harpists to run master classes. These workshops would be based at our showroom in the Cotswolds and around the UK and Ireland.
This position would ideally be full time, Monday to Friday, based at Clive Morley Harps in Goodfellows, Filkins, near Lechlade. We would require the successful applicant to work two Saturdays per month in order to run weekend workshops and deal with Saturday customers. Time worked on Saturday would be taken off in lieu during the mid-week.
There is potential for the candidate to provide private music lessons during their working day and after hours using the business premises, which is a registered ABRSM examination centre.
This is an opportunity for someone who loves the harp to work in the music business, promoting an instrument about which they are passionate. They will also be able to spend time broadening their experience of different types of harps, music and harpists.
We do not expect candidates to have had previous experience of a sales based role in the music business and training will be provided. A valid UK/EEC driving licence is required.
Interested candidates should send a covering letter with CV attached to Ben Morley at ben@morleyharps.com or call 01367 860493. The financial package would be discussed on application.
