Venues with Access Difficulties for Harps
Opinions expressed on this page are those of individual harpists and are not necessarily endorsed by Morley Harps.
H.M.S Warrior, Portsmouth Staff assured me in advance that they would be prepared to help carry my harp down the extremely steep and precarious steps onto the ship, as they had done on a previous occasion. When I arrived they insisted that I had been told they would not! Luckily a member of the public helped me struggle down the steps with my full sized concert harp. My advice: if booked to play on Warrior, take a very small harp. PS
Penshurst Place, Kent Access to the upstairs dining area is by a very narrow spiral staircase. Harp won't fit on trolley and needs to be carried. Staff won't help with the harp. PS
Wallingford Town Hall No parking available, so you have to unload and then go off and park about five minutes away. Staff won't help carry the harp up the stairs. PS
Eastnor Castle, Herefordshire Staff will not help carry the harp up the stairs. Apparently, the clients had ordered a meal for our harpist which never appeared. CK
